Reference

Literature references generally have the form (without quotes) 'Publication, Year, Vol, Page'. For example, 'Talanta, 1991, 38, 1409' or 'J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans., 1977,, 588'. The search is case sensitive.

Book references only have 'Publication, Year' and chapters have 'Publication, Year, Page'. For example, 'Handbook of Proton Ionization Heats, 1976' and ' Modelling in Aquatic Chemistry, 1997, 427' respectively.

Publication names can be abbreviated provided the abbreviation is unambiguous. In such abbreviations, words can be truncated back to their leading capital letter and punctuation omitted. Thus 'Tal' and 'JCSD' are valid abbreviations for the journals 'Talanta' and 'J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans.'

Reference numbers can also be specified as integers (without punctuation) between 1 and about 31,000. You can establish the number of the reference that you require by selecting the 'Author Search' on the previous page.
